Founders Sam Tilford and Joey Koch first met in college, where they shared a small room on the third floor — a space that became the backdrop for countless early film projects, ideas, and late-night edits. What started as collaboration between friends evolved into a shared creative vision: to make films that feel both cinematic and human.

Sam Tilford is a director and cinematographer driven by the visual side of storytelling. His work blends atmosphere and authenticity, capturing the tone and texture that make each project feel distinct.

Together, they founded Third Floor Stories to create work that connects — film with purpose, told from the heart.

Joey Koch is a filmmaker and editor with a background in documentary and commercial storytelling. He brings a precise eye for structure and pacing — shaping stories that move naturally and resonate long after they’re seen.
